DUB CITY MUSIC GROUP

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Dub City Music Group (DCMG) was founded in Long Beach, California by Van Moloney in 2011. The label’s artists infuse Reggae, Dub, Rock, Dancehall beats, and a touch of Rhythm 'n Blues to create  a unique Southern California sound. I was approached by Van to create a bold identity that captures the sound of the brand. The mark is a capital D in the shape of a vintage microphone symbolizing the old school R&B inspiration that you can hear throughout the brand’s music.  A circle shape brings the logo together symbolizing the connection you feel while attending one of the labels concerts. This was a fun project, I was able to listen to weeks worth of unreleased music while I was creating the brand mark.
